1965 Ford Mustang Fastback
The Basics
This 1965 Mustang Fastback was built buy Ford as a T-code (6-cylinder) automatic with blue Pony interior. Because this car had a great deal of rust and damage, we began the process of repairing all the major structure and sheet metal. We will continue to work on this car. If you decide to adopt it, you get to choose how we finish it. If not, we will build the car the way we want and then offer it for sale as a completed car. If you have interest in this car or have an opinion on what we should do, please feel free to contact us.
The Damage....
Upon initial inspection, it was apparent this car had a great deal of rust and damage. It didn't take too much digging to find that the fenders had been poorly repaired, leading to much of the rust damage. The quarter panels also had a great deal of damage. They will need to be replaced.
We had suspected that the car had been in a front end collision at some point in its past. (More on this coming up.) The big sheet of bondo off of the cowl and the big dent quickly confirmed that thought.

More Damage....
The next step was to completely disassemble the car to further evaluate the damage. Once the disassembly was complete, we started to realize that this is quite possibly the rustiest car we have ever worked on.
The floor from the firewall to the tail light panel was shot. There was rust virtually the entire way back. It will need both a full floor section for the passenger compartment as well as a full trunk floor. Tune in for pictures of even more damage. :(

Still More Rust...
And...Still More Rust... :(

Tentative Ideas/Plans
Since this car was just a 6 cylinder automatic and not incredibly rare, we have tentatively decided to build a nice modern version of this old classic. The idea is to build a car that mostly resembles an original fastback with a modern touch to improve drive-ability and add creature comforts.
The following is a list of planned parts for the car. Keep in mind, if you decide you would like to adopt this car, everything can be changed to meet your needs. Just give us a call!
